Audiologist

The Role
As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for delivering diagnostic audiology services to patients referred by local GPs.
The postholder will be a key member of our clients Adult Audiology Service team carrying out all aspects of routine audiological procedures ranging from diagnostic testing to adult rehabilitation with hearing aids and assistive listening devices, and associated follow-ups and repairs.
The role is practice based, working with world-leading technology and an established patient base with regional centres.
Delivering an Adult Audiology Service, ensuring that all patients are assessed accurately, and by the most suitable combination of clinical assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take clinical histories from patients or their carers
- Conduct clinical interviews to assess hearing and communication needs
- Perform full otoscopy
- Carry out audiometric testing, including measurements of pure-tone air and bone conduction thresholds including masking
- Assess current activity restrictions and participatory limitations using a formal validated self-report instrument — The Glasgow Hearing Aid Benefit Profile (GHABP)
- Assess loudness discomfort levels
- Integrate assessment findings with service user expectations
- Develop personalised care plans
- Support ongoing professional development through training and learning opportunities
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Audiologist with experience delivering diagnostic audiology services
- Experience across routine audiological procedures, from diagnostic testing through to adult rehabilitation with hearing aids and assistive listening devices
- Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
