This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join one of the most successful manufacturing companies in the UK.

My client is now looking for an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer who is looking to make an instant impact on a site and contribute to the growth of the business through hard work, commitment and dedication.

The Role

Our client is a solid and thriving multinational manufacturer who have gained an enviable reputation of expertise in the continual development and improvement and is seen as a market leader within their specialist sector. With over 50 years in operation, they maintain their high standards of production and continuously investing to ensure significant growth and a healthy growing order book and turnover.

Due to customer growth and demand, they are now opening their doors to new Engineers. The successful Maintenance Engineer will have the opportunity to work with market leading kit and also have opportunity to train as well as progress into more senior positions. They offer unbeatable training and are development incentives for their Engineers and a have good relationships with OEMs and local colleges where Engineers are sent for Mechanical, Electrical and Health & Safety Training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and service of unique equipment and machines on site, alongside continuous improvement tasks
  • Troubleshoot and repair production and utility equipment
  • Swap both electrical and mechanical components like for like, with the occasional strip and rebuild project
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide technical expertise to enhance productivity
  • Support new machinery installations
  • Keep accurate maintenance records
  • Champion safety and continuous improvement (BOPEX)
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent), ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, with a Root Cause Analysis approach
  • IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with safety protocols (LOTO, ATEX/DSEAR, etc.)
  • Comfortable with 12-hour continental shifts
  • Able to work alone as well as within a team and help support colleagues on shift
